This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Rare Spaces collects, how we use it, when we share it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you.
You can browse and share public property pages without creating an account. Some features, including favourites, saved searches, alerts, and contacting property publishers, require an account and verification.
1. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Rare Spaces.
Account information
When you create or use an account, we may collect:
- your name;
- email address;
- mobile number;
- account and verification information; and
- information needed to keep your account secure.
Property and publisher information
If you submit or manage a property, we may collect:
- your name and contact information;
- whether you are an owner, agent, or developer;
- business and professional information;
- property details, price or rent, charges, and availability;
- the property's full address and postal code;
- applicable RERA information;
- photographs and other property media; and
- information about the review and publication of your listing.
We do not routinely ask for Aadhaar, ownership deeds, tax receipts, or society records when you submit a property.
If we need additional information to investigate a serious concern about a property or your authority to publish it, we will ask only for information reasonably necessary for that purpose.
Buyer and tenant activity
When you use Rare Spaces, we may collect information about:
- properties you save;
- saved searches and alerts;
- contact or viewing requests; and
- your choices and consent regarding sharing your contact information with a Publisher.
Payment information
When you purchase a publication plan, we collect information such as:
- the plan purchased;
- payment amount and taxes;
- order and payment references;
- billing and invoice information; and
- refund information.
Payments are handled through our payment provider. Rare Spaces does not receive or store complete card details, UPI PINs, banking passwords, or similar payment credentials.
Support and complaints
If you contact us, report a listing, make a privacy request, or submit a grievance, we collect the information you provide so that we can respond and investigate the issue.
Technical information
We may collect limited technical information about your use of Rare Spaces, such as:
- device and browser information;
- approximate network information;
- timestamps and request information;
- errors and performance information; and
- information used to detect fraud, spam, abuse, or security threats.
We may also use aggregated information to understand how Rare Spaces is used and improve the service.
2. How we use your information
We use personal information to operate, protect, and improve Rare Spaces.
This includes using information to:
- create and secure accounts;
- verify email addresses and mobile numbers;
- review and publish property listings;
- protect the privacy of property locations;
- provide favourites, saved searches, and alerts;
- enable contact and viewing requests;
- process publication payments, invoices, and refunds;
- prevent fraud, spam, misleading listings, and abuse;
- investigate reports, complaints, and appeals;
- respond to privacy requests;
- maintain the security and reliability of Rare Spaces;
- comply with legal, accounting, and regulatory requirements; and
- understand and improve how the marketplace is used.
Where we ask for your consent for a particular use, you may withdraw that consent for future use.
Withdrawal does not affect actions that already occurred or information that we are required or permitted to retain.
3. Property location privacy
Publishers provide Rare Spaces with the complete address of a property so that we can review and operate the listing.
For occupied homes offered for sale or rent, we generally show only an approximate location or locality publicly rather than the exact address.
For development projects or properties whose location is already intended to be public, we may display a more precise location.
We take particular care not to intentionally expose private residential addresses through public listing information.
4. Contact information
Rare Spaces offers different ways for users and Publishers to connect.
Depending on the listing:
- we may show you the Publisher's contact information after verification; or
- we may share your contact information with the Publisher after you specifically agree to it.
We do not share your contact information with a Publisher merely because you viewed or saved their property.
Where available, you may withdraw a pending request to share your contact information.
5. Who we share information with
We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate Rare Spaces, including providers of:
- hosting and data storage;
- payments;
- email and communications;
- mobile-number verification;
- maps and location services;
- security and fraud prevention; and
- analytics and service monitoring.
These providers receive only the information reasonably necessary to provide their services and process it subject to their applicable contractual and legal obligations.
We may also share information:
- with a Publisher when you ask us to connect you with them;
- when required by applicable law or valid legal process;
- to investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, or security threats;
- to protect users, properties, or Rare Spaces; or
- in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of Rare Spaces, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.
6. Information that becomes public
When a property is published, some information becomes publicly available. This may include:
- approved property descriptions and details;
- photographs and other approved media;
- price or rent;
- approximate or project location;
- Publisher display information; and
- applicable RERA information.
Public information may be indexed by search engines or retained by people and services outside Rare Spaces after a listing is changed or removed.
Publishers should not include phone numbers, email addresses, private residential addresses, identity numbers, confidential documents, or other unnecessary personal information in public listing descriptions or photographs.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or as required or permitted by law.
Different information may be retained for different periods. For example, we may need to retain certain:
- payment and invoice records for tax and accounting purposes;
- consent records to demonstrate your choices;
- moderation and fraud-prevention records to protect the marketplace;
- complaint and dispute records until the matter is resolved; and
- records required by legal or regulatory obligations.
When information is no longer required, we will delete or anonymise it in accordance with our retention practices and applicable law.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or loss.
These measures include access controls, encryption where appropriate, secure storage, authentication controls, monitoring, and measures designed to prevent abuse.
No online service can guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law and the information concerned, you may be able to:
- access information about your account;
- correct inaccurate information;
- withdraw consent for optional uses;
- unsubscribe from alerts and communications;
- request information about how your personal data is being used;
- request deletion of eligible personal information; and
- raise a complaint about how your information is handled.
Some information may need to be retained after account deletion for legal, tax, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
We may need to verify your identity before completing certain privacy requests.

10. Children
Rare Spaces is intended for adults.
Children should not create accounts, publish properties, or provide personal information through Rare Spaces without any consent or authorisation required by applicable law.
If we learn that a child's personal information has been collected inappropriately, we will take reasonable steps to investigate and address it.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If we make material changes, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain consent where required by applicable law.
The effective date at the top of this Policy identifies the current version.
